A message from the Managing Director

Welcome to PHMATTERS, our new quarterly electronic newsletter. Its purpose is simple – to keep you informed of what’s happening in the world of PierceHill.

This month we feature a couple of projects that reflect one of the key cornerstones of our success – long standing client relationships.

We’re also developing a growing international portfolio which includes a state-of-the-art development in the Caribbean. I can’t imagine why we’re attracted to that particular island paradise!

I hope you enjoy reading our news. Thanks for your interest.

Works underway for new hospital unit

Preparatory works are underway for the new Sir William Rous Unit at Kingston Hospital in Surrey. PierceHill is providing a full range of quantity surveying services to the Kingston Hospital NHS Trust for the new oncology unit which will specialise in cancer treatment.

The development is a unique three-way partnership between Kingston Hospital, who have raised £2.8m through the Kingston Can appeal, The Royal Marsden Hospital, who have donated £1.3m and Macmillan Cancer Support, who are raising £630k for the new unit.

The new unit is named after Sir William Rous who was Chairman of Kingston Hospital from December 1996 until his death from cancer in May 1999. The Sir William Rous Unit will be open to patients early in 2008.

PierceHill has worked at the Kingston Hospital site for almost five years, working on projects totalling more than £6m in value.

Customer service levels get thumbs up

In December 2006, PierceHill conducted a customer survey and received a first-class response. One hundred per cent of respondents to our market research questionnaire scored us as providing “above average” customer service with 80% saying our customer service was “excellent”.

We would like to thank all those customers and consultants who were kind enough to take part in our survey. The feedback we received will help us to drive further improvements to our levels of service across the whole of PierceHill.
